Join Boscov's Harrisburg East, Colonial Park and Camp Hill locations and Caitlin's Smiles in their efforts to put smiles on the faces of children facing Chronic or life-threatening conditions by visiting our Christmas in July displays in all three locations. Take an ornament on the Christmas tree, purchase the item and drop it off at the Boscov's courtesy desk. (See also the wish list on the Caitlin's Smiles website).
Caitlin's Smiles is a program to help children with life threatening illnesses by giving them hope, laughs and smiles by providing a bag of smiles. Bags of Smiles contain crafts, drawing activities, journals, and assorted fun surprises. "Caitlin's Smiles recognizes that creativity is vital to a child's normal growth and development. Healing is a mental process as well as a physical one. Art is a very positive distraction from a hospital setting."
For Caitlin Mary Hornung, glitter and glue provided a miracle cure. While it couldn't cure the malignant brain tumor doctors discovered in 1997, Caitlin's zest for arts and crafts chased away the blues and kept her smiling. Caitlin passed on in 2000, but her smiling spirit is alive through Caitlin's Smiles™.
Caitlin's Smiles is a non-profit organization dedicated to putting smiles on the faces of children with chronic or life-threatening diseases by encouraging them to focus on creative arts activities that boost their confidence and self-worth.
Help someone smile today by doing any of the simple things below. It doesn't take a lot to make a big difference in a child's life. Visit our volunteer page for more specific ways you can help.
