Caitlin’s Smiles will participate — and benefit — from two giving events in Lancaster County this year.
On Friday, November 21, supporters of Caitlin’s Smiles can donate online through the Extraordinary Give at extragive.org. Donations are encouraged in amounts of $25 for a Bag of Smiles, $250 for a box of assorted craft kits for a hospital pediatric unit, or $2500 to host volunteers at our volunteer center for a month to fill hospital orders. Find us on the leaderboard and donate on our page. Donations will be matched by the Lancaster County Community Foundation as long as their pot of money holds out! More than 250 local organizations will benefit.
On Saturday, November 22, you can shop ’til you drop at the Gifts That Give Back — Alternative Gift Fair at the Farm and Home Center, 1383 Arcadia Road, Lancaster, from 10 am to 4 pm. You can “shop” for gifts from area nonprofit organizations, including Caitlin’s Smiles. You “purchase” a can of Play-Doh, a spool of gimp, or a bag of pony beads by donating to the organization. In return, you receive a beautiful recognition card to give to your special someone during the Holidays. Over 50 organizations will participate this year. In 2014, Caitlin’s Smiles has provided over 1,500 Bags of Smiles, 1,700 toys, and 6,000+ craft kits to Lancaster General Hospital, the Penn State Specialty Clinic in Lancaster, Ephrata Hospital — all in Lancaster County, and the Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey.
